The Partnership for Business & Industry Training
The Partnership for Business and Industry Training at South Texas College offers an assortment of customized Professional Training Solutions to area businesses and industry that are tailored to the client’s needs in content, schedule, and location. These customized Professional Training Solutions will provide your employees with the industry skills needed to enhance their productivity and therefore increase profitability to your organization. Also, mandatory Continuing Education Units meeting licensing requirements are available for certified professionals.
The goal of the Partnership is to help identify, develop and provide quality-professional training solutions to employers/agencies that are seeking to upgrade the skills and performance of their existing and new workforce.
The Partnership is staffed with Training Managers and Project Training Specialists who assess the needs of our customers and select the right candidate/trainer to customize and provide the necessary training solutions tailored to the customer’s specifications.
Our Professional Training Solutions, courses and/or programs, may be customized in length and content to meet your organization’s needs. Also, our courses are scheduled with flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, throughout Hidalgo and Starr Counties.
The different PARTNERSHIPS established are with:
- Employment agencies for the recruitment, screening, testing and counseling of potential employees entering customized training: Valley Initiative for Development Advancement (VIDA), Region One ESC, Department of Assistive and Rehabilitation Services (DARS), Texas Workforce Commission, WorkFORCE Solutions, and Motivation Education Training (MET).
- Employers in need to improve their workforce’s skills through customized training.
- Economic Development corporations working with new companies relocating to the Valley and/or existing companies in need of training.
